California Partners Project

California Partners Project is ensuring that our State’s largest industries meet their social obligation to children and women, working both for the bottom line and the public good. From the personal technological devices that influence our children’s minds to the corporate boardroom, industry can do its part to ensure the mental wellbeing of children and gender equity in the workplace. CPP uses research, public awareness campaigns, and multimedia to explore the warning signs and intervention best practices surrounding the use of technology and its impact on childhood mental health. CPP uses education and public campaigns to enlist corporations in the work to enhance gender diversity in the boardroom, recognizing that family-centered workplace policies begin with a shift in thinking at the highest levels of corporate decision making. At a time when there is increased urgency to improve the lives of children and families across the State, California Partners Project leadership is catalyzing systemic change.

“The California Partners Project launched in 2020, just before the pandemic. Almost overnight, the time kids spent on screens doubled. Understanding the impact of media and technology on child development is more urgent than ever. We believe that California has an opportunity and a moral obligation to insist that child wellbeing is central in media and tech development, as this is the global home of the media firms that are building the world our kids live in everyday, and the platforms that shape their relationships, self-esteem, and understanding of our world and their future in it. LSPFF and Lisa’s long history and work in child development and emotional wellbeing enables CPP to achieve its aims, and also to connect to field experts, grounding our work and amplifying our findings.”
