CPMC’s Kalmanovitz Child Development Center
For more than 50 years, CPMC’s Kalmanovitz Child Development Center (KCDC) has provided world-class, comprehensive care for children in need of specialized mental health, behavioral, and developmental therapies. The KCDC Child Psychology Post-Doctoral Program greatly expands access for children and adolescents in San Francisco to receive urgently needed behavioral health care now, regardless of their family’s insurance status or ability to pay.

Since launching in 2015, the Steinberg Institute has generated billions of dollars for vital programs that directly impact the lives of California's most vulnerable. As California's only independent mental health and substance use advocacy organization, our work has led to thousands of homes for people experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness, a robust framework and implementation plan for the new 988 crisis line and strict rules requiring insurance companies to provide the same level of coverage for mental health treatment as physical health.
