California Children’s Trust

The California Children’s Trust is working feverishly to address California’s urgent behavioral health crisis among children. It aims to – in six years – revolutionarily transform the administration, delivery and financing of our child-serving systems, ensuring they are equity-driven and accountable for improved child health outcomes. This massive systemic change effort is focused on harnessing the statewide consensus on the need for change and the unprecedented commitment to collective action, to bring to fruition an integrated and accountable child-serving system that will transform outcomes for children, youth, and families.

“At the heart of the trust is the simple premise that mental health is not a response to pathology, but it’s support for healthy development, and something that most children should have access to, as they grow and develop.”

“The Children's Trust was formed about three years ago in response to striking increases in utilization and acuity of children's mental health services in CA and across the nation. At the heart of the Trust is the simple premise that mental health is not a response to pathology, but support for healthy development, and something that children should have access to as they grow and develop. The Trust has assembled a Statewide leadership team of experts in child serving systems across juvenile justice, child welfare, pediatric primary care, and mental health, to reinvent how CA supports the social and emotional health of children. We are so blessed to partner with LSPFF. Their thoughtful engagement has led to an extraordinary opportunity for us in our efforts around systems-change.”
